Point DVD-RAM Drive Letter To Hard Drive?

Author: Justin Goldberg [L_o_Z]
Date: Mar 27, 2008 13:55

I have a proprietary backup system that backs up it's data to a dvd-
ram drive formatted as ntfs and the system sees it as a large floppy/
superdisk-type drive. This system is wasting a lot of disks, and, to
make a long story short, I want to force the backup software to write
to a hard drive instead of the dvd-ram disk. I've heard this is
possible by editing the registry. Can anyone point me to some
information on this?

I know I'm on my own and unsupported by MS by doing registry-editing.

NDIS miniport Driver - packet re-ordering

Author: James Jin
Date: Mar 13, 2008 01:37

Hello,

I'm developing ndis-usb miniport driver.
If IP packet order was corrupted by any reason, Have to I re-order IP
packet?

I've reviewed the TCP / IP Layer concepts in wikipedia.org.
The doc said that TCP layer re-ordered Packets.

NDIS miniport driver isn't TCP / IP layer, then don't have to re-order
packet. right?

Best regards.

  motherboard does not turn off

Author: Gianluca

I have to install a video capture card on an Asus M2Avm motherboard:
I can use a pci-express card or a pci card (each card has four conexant and
a pci-bridge).
Both the card work well, but when I use the pci one, if I click on windows'
turn off button,
The operating system turn off, but the machine remain on ( Processor and cpu
fan continue to run).

Can any one help me to resolve this problem?

Regards,

Gianluca

storprop.dll not being copied to system32 from driver.cab?

Author: helkins
Date: Mar 4, 2008 09:39

I'm having the strangest problem with a particular computer running my
standard unattended XP (a setup that has been used trillions of times
on every kind of PC here in the office without any problems) with SP2
slipstreamed along with the latest intel chipset and SATA drivers.

Anyways the problem is that for whatever reason, storprop.dll is not
copied from the driver.cab to system32 on this particular PC and thus
I get those silly "device installer" errors for all my storage devices
(CDROM, harddisk) and asks to install a driver that it will never
find. I say "silly" because the hardware works fine and is accessible
from XP. Manually copying storprop.dll from driver.cab in the driver
cache folder solves the problem instantly (after telling the device
manager to scan for new hardware).

Troubled PC specs:

E8400 (45nm intel c2d 3ghz)
DX38BT (retail branded Intel desktop board w/ x38 chipset)
2GB DDR3
1TB RAID1 (2 samsung 1TB's) on the integrated ICH9R
Radeon 3870
LiteOn 20X DVD+/-R
