I need to know exactly how the GDI system communicates with the printer
pertaining to text and fonts. At exactly what step is the text rasterized? How
does the printer know the characteristics of the font being printed, does it
receive (a) The font, and text (b) rasterized pixels, or (c) vector data?

For your guidance I clicked the Click to DVD and got foll box :
Another application is already using the video hardware overlay.
Please close the application and start it again.
If there is no open application playing back video, the display settings may be incorrect.
The desktop screen resolution or monitor refresh or may set too high.
Furthermore after some 2 minutes got the initial screen with foll remark ;
Cannot detect the drive or the power is off.
Check that the drive is connected to the computer and turn on.
I am using resolution 1280 x 800 but when clicked to get the back up disks the resolution automatically decreases.
The drive was refreshed by me two times.
I deleted in Task Manager my entire personal program drives, useless.
Uninstalled CD/DVD driver and reinstalled, useless.
At the moment, I cannot burn any disk.

Why doesn't the Device Node get reenumerated after driver install? I am
making a change to the registry to enable DMA if Available in my tape
driver but after the driver installs I am not getting the results I
need. It doesn't automatically update the Current Tranfer Mode (still
PIO) although DMA if Available is enabled. If I scan for hardware
changes via the device manager or programmatically the Current Transfer
Mode is set to DMA. Is there some way to do this in the driver?

I have a camera here that i'm trying to install on my PC. The instructions
say that the drivers for the camera are already on WindowsXP and all I need
do is plug the thing in and go through the installation wizard and it'll be
all set.
But when I get to a certain point in the installation process it tells me
that it needs file ksaur(something) from the WindowsXP service pack 2 disc
and asks where tio find it. I have tried to install the camera severall times
and I get the exact same result each time.
I downloaded SP2 quite awhile back, but did it again just in case and it
made no difference. I have tried the camera's manufacturers support, but they
just keep sending me in circles.
Can anyone help??

Yes, Doron, this was a first thing I thought about when I've read UMDF
docs.
(new territory)
More to this I think use of UMDF for root enumerated network devices
using
winsock could be much less efficient than simply write COM-object
(call it a driver) to drive the device.
I did it and it works.
Of course, TCP/winsock from the hardware standpoint is
less than satisfactory interface: bytestream, no headers.
Hope some time Microsoft will add better support for such a devices to
UMDF.
The only thing I wanted to do: to see my COM object ("driver") in the
device manager.
This was my very first question.
Seems, now I know an answer: using root enumeration add custom prop
page
to coinstaller ...

I installed an HP OfficeJet T45 all-in-one printer, scanner and fax
about 5 years ago and until just recently it worked well. The the
Configuration Process started taking a long time to complete (failure
makes device inaccessible from computer) so I uninstalled software,
downloaded latest version of software for Windows XP from HP and when
I attempted to install it, I got eror message indicating that the set
up had detected a version of the software which had to be uninstalled.
I did a Registry cleaning but still got the detection error message
when attempting to install the software. Please advise....thx!!
