I know this has to have happened to someone, but I can't seem to get the
title of the folders and files to appear in dome of my Thumbnail view
folders. In some they appear in others they don't.

How can I get the titles to reappear?

See image http://www.paulchatman.com/images/where-are-the-titles.png

Thanks

Paul

In the folders where the file name doesn't appear, do the following.

Click on View in the toolbar at the top of the window.
Change the view settings from Thumbnails to another option such as Icons.
Next, hold down the Shift key and change the view settings back to Thumbnails.
The names of the files should now be visible.

Thank you so much for that. I had no idea that function existed.
Even more odd, I don't even know how I could've "shift"ed from one
view to the other.

Thank you again :)

Dan,

You're welcome. To tell the truth, I didn't figure this out on my own. That's
what geeks are for, let them do the heavy lifting. I ran into this same problem
a few years ago and found the answer on somebody's web site.

Bottom line, Google's got the answer. You just need to know the right question
to ask.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=file+names+missing+under+thumbnails

And thanks for the entertaining response. It made my Saturday morning.
