Sorry Leonard, but you are incorrect on this matter.
Outlook does in fact use system colours to control the highlighting of
today's date
and there is no way of changing this from within Outlook(2003) /WinXP.
Hence themes/color schemes are the ONLY way of changing the
highlighting
of the day.
