Hey, I doubt that I can answer your question but I think it would be useful
for you to post a "screen shot" of another application that has the feature
that you're trying to describe. From your description, I am unclear as to
what you're looking for.
You should be able to do a screen capture by doing + (the print
screen button). This is saved to the clipboard. Then you can paste it into
a program like Windows Paint or a photo editing program like Photoshop.
From there you should be able to save the image as a .JPG or .BMP file and
include it as an attachment to a post you make here.
You could also just give an example of a particular program that has the
feature you want.
Hope this brings you closer...
