Running Win XP Home w SP2 and ZoneAlarm Firewall and Security on Fujitsu C
series Laptop.
Casually attempted to upgrade SP2 with SP3 download and it failed. Laptop
seemed ok in spite of warning that XP might not work right.
Continued to work with Googgle's Picasso arranging pictures from Camera
onto external hard drive.
Attempted to set up Web Album on Picasso via net when system crashed.
Reboot(s) results in consistent BSOD stating that windows had shut down to
protect my computer. Problem said to be PQV2i.sys causing a
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONEPAGED_AREA.
Unable to restart in any mode (safe, etc), BSOD in each case.
Technical Info (Always the same)
***STOP: 0x00000050 ( oxE etc, ox00etc 0xF868 etc, 0x000 etc)
***PQV2i.sys: Address F868E444 base at F8685000, date stamp etc.
Restored C drive from external drive using Norton Ghost, same result.
Attempted to use Win XP Professional Installation Disc recovery console
feature, but unable to log in to C: Windows cause I can't remember my login
password.
