I have an HP desktop that's about 2 years old (P4-2.99Ghz). It have 1.5 gb
of memory.
The problem is that it boots EXTREMELY slowly even in SAFE mode.
Once it's running it performs OK.
I've run AV and anti-spyware on the box as well as System Mechanic and
CCLEANER to clean the registry.
I have also defragmented the hard drive.
Is it possible that this is a hardware issue? memory? motherboard? HDD?
If it could be hardware what's the best way to diagnosis the problem?

Help!
All of a sudden I can no longer login to my Admin account.
I get an error message to the effect that account have been locked out
due to 3 unsuccessful attempts.
Several hours later I try again and I was able to get in except that I
got another message to the effect that the security log is full. I
emptied the security log and created another admin account.
I'm still finding a problem logging in with both of them.
Any idea as to how can this happen and also how do I resolve it.
Thank you very much
Mike

I do not consider this to be a problem but it does look odd. When I close an
open thread the page...lol...looks like a bar code...I only wondered if this
could mean something is wrong because nothing else I have seen does this. I
do remember visiting a website and if I scrolled before the entire page
loaded, and that did take 30 seconds at least, Activision I think it was,
about 6 months ago, I think it still does that...but if I scrolled the page
that I could not see until I scrolled the page would look like a....bar
code...vertically...I think that is quite funny...it looks like a bar
code...heh...

Hi:
To all respective forum readers, please take notice:
1) First of all, my apologies for such a wide off-topic cross-
posting. It's unusual, and very frowned upon. But I deem it
necessary in lieu of recent events. You can just disregard if you
will.
2) There is a user on the net who has impersonated "Don Klipstein",
me, as well as other respectable Usenet posters. He/she is using our
names, email addresses, and profiles to post nonsense on Usenet
newsgroups. This impersonator seems to be located either in Burma or
Korea and has the IP address of 184.46.20.1.
3) Doing a WHOIS checkup on 184.46.20.1 locates the source to be in
Seoul, Korea:
