Closing down XP Home Edition

When closing down my computer, which runs on XP Home Edition with Support
Packs, I get an error message, MCCWSAWindow: this program is not responding
and inviting me to close it manually. What is this program? How can I stop
this message appearing so that the program closes automatically?

A quick search on the net seems to indicate that it is owed by
BTHelpNotifier and that disabling it resolves the problem.
