  No Sharing Tab in folders

Author: Delbert

Hi there,
I've got this weird error in one of my users in Windows XP Pro.

For some reason when he is trying to share a folder - right click then
properties, he he's not seeing his "share" tab. All he can see is the
"WebShare" tab which is for IIS.

I tried googling this and found a few forums about it but none had resolved
the issue: http://www.computing.net/windowsxp/wwwboard/forum/160486.html

Can someone point me to a fix to this? I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

WDS or Google Desktop Search Engine ?

Well, its WDS or Google Desktop Search Engine,
since I don't have experiences with this application,
thought I would as the MVP or guru's are these apps
the best for doing a full context index on all media types,
on you internal and external (usb) or network drives?

Or, is there a better application ?

TIA
Richard

After you have sorted this problem out, you need to take this on board:

Please be aware that it is VERY BAD PRACTICE to use the built-in
Administrator account on a day-to-day basis and as your only account on the
computer. If the account gets corrupted, as it will do at some time, then
your ONLY way into the machine is by doing a repair install of XP. set up a
User account and give that Admin rights for daily use, leaving the built-in
Administrator account for emergency access only.

  Grpedit.msc from bootable cd

Hi

I have a WinXP Pro SP2 where I cannot login local! I think in the local
group policy was the "local login" key disabled :-( I tried to reset this
setting with ERD 2005 but I cant find this key in the registry. And also I
can't open the Grpedit.msc in ERD, so how can I open or reset the local
group policy from a bootable cd? The "allow remote login" key is also deny,
so also I can't connect over the LAN to this computer :-( A "Windows repair"
also doesn't solve the problem! Everytime I try to login I recieve the
error: Local policy prevents interactive logon. This computer is not in a
Domain! :-(

Thax for any suggestions!

Regards
Marco
