  Sendto Any folder missing

Author: ilyaz
Date: Dec 26, 2008 13:11

In my Windows XP SP3 for a long while, I had in the Context menu option
Sendto Any folder. Recently, it and some others options disappeared...
I was able to restore Sendto " to zip", "to clipboard", "to mail recipient"
and some others, but the Sendto Any folder evades me.
"Any Folder...Other Folder" along with others Sendto are listed in the
C://>Documents and Settings>Owner>Sendto folder, but "Any Folder" does not
appear in the Context menu when I right click my mouse...
I think, I've heard that there is a registry fix for this problem, but could
not find it. Any suggestions on how to find this fix or how to fix this
problem and restore Sendto Any folder will be appreciated.

I have been getting a load of add popups all of a sudden. I downloaded
Microsoft Defender and I cannot find it in order to run it. Any idea where
it could be?

  Got no sound. :(

I have just gone thru hell and emerged reasonably unscathed!
My brother-in-law got a new computer and gave me his old one. It's a 1.67
gigahertz AMD Athlon XP. Granted, this in today's world is kinda old'n
slow but a helluva lot faster/better than the 400mhz I was running.

I thought, well hell, I'll just throw my hard-drive in there to replace
his much smaller one and be on my way. If only it were that easy!

To make it short, I ended up booting from the XP cd and having to do a
repair(?) and even this wouldn't boot. Being persistent, I kept having
to boot from the cd and doing the repair routine and not getting a boot.
Reason given was 'no NTLDR'. For some reason the NT loader wasn't
installing. After about the fifth or sixth repair install, it finally
found the loader and it began booting. I'm thinking that I'd lost
everything on the drive for sure, but I got my old system back just as it
was before.
"With one exception." I have no sound!

  Subfolder views

Author: Miles
Date: Dec 26, 2008 09:28

I am trying to make all subfolders in My Pictures the same as the main
folder.
I know Xp used to have that option, but it seems to be missing now.
MVP Keith had a script to do the job, according to the conversation below.
However, the link requires some sort of permission to open.
Is there a current script available to everybody for this function?
Thanks,
Dick

PS: (I can't imagine why Microsoft removed this function from Xp)

I've written a script that will apply all the view customizations you can
set to all of a folder's
subfolders. Right-click the link below & save to your computer. The zip file
contains a readme
file & the script itself.

Re: Window XP Error Accessing File

Ok .. this sucks..

Has anyone any kind of encounter with this.

I have tried this stupid file many different ways.

I even get an error moving the freakin through a normal copy command from
the command prompt and even get an error when I try a windows drag and drop.

I mean it just gives me a problem no matter what I do after I get the first
read error.

VFP reports its my OS.. my OS says its the file.. but yet, I created the
file using VFP append blank and replace and never had a problem while
creating it.

I don't know what else to do. I think there is a glitch in Window XP we
don't know about...

Any way, please if anyone has any clue..

Thanks in advance,

Juan.
