Hi,
When I go to safe mode, the part of screen showing "Owner"
I have noticed a message saying underneath
"1 unread message".
Last time I used Safe mode was aboout 4 months ago and
I did not see this message there.
How do I see this "unread message" ? and
Why is it there?
I started Windows XP in normal operation and went to see
"User Administrator" in Control panel. I did not see anything there.
I appreciate if someone could help me.
Meg

OK, try this one: I have tried installing this software left, right, up,
down and safe mode and no matter what, I get the same error message: "you do
not have access to make the required system configuration modifications.
Please rerun this installation from an administrator's accout." Well, I
have. Over and over. Tried the built-in admin account - nada. I am listed
as a system administrator, and it don't work there either. Even tried the
"run as..." option...zip, zilch. So what's the sitch? Is there something
that needs to be turned on? Or what? Tried the ctl-alt-del bit too, didn't
work. What am I missing? Using WinXP Pro, SP2.

My client has a laptop with XP and likes it, and a fairly new Desktop with
Vista and dislikes Vista.
Can I use an OEM version of Win XP to replace the current Vista? Newegg
indicates that I must have reciepts for a new MB, CPU, RAM, & Hard Drive.
Any suggestions on doing this?

something wrong. local disk is now "F" instead of "C" and I keep get error
ballooon that tells me I have low disk space. I can't download my nero

I have XP Pro SP2 with ALL updates. Just recently my taskbar stopped popping
up the item list for items that group together (like 10 sessions of IE).
When I left click on the group icon nothing happens. Everything else
functions as expected including right clicking on the group icon. What I
expect to happen is that I get a vertical menu of each program so I can
select one. What has gone wrong and how do I fix it. I know I could expand
the toolbar and have one icon for every program or just run fewer programs at
once but that seems stupid. I've tried rebooting and resetting the Group
function in Properties, but nothing so far has worked.

I started a clean install this morning and I haven't been able to get done
yet.
I backed up my files, rebooted, tapped the F12 key, and i saw a message
saying that "setup is inspecting *****.
Then I get a screen that says' "press any key to continue" but when I
pressed one, my system just stayed stuck , showing just a black screen. I
can't do a clean install and update my system because of that.
Can anyone please instruct me on what the issue is here?
