  Netmeeting Sharing does not work

Author: Peter
Date: Jan 28, 2008 09:36

A user connected to my desktop through NetMeeting from a hotel and
everything worked, but when the same user with the same laptop tried to
connect to my desktop from his home everything worked except the Sharing,
the Share Button and all of the items in the list box were disabled, plus
the NetMeeting Window title showed "Sharing - Not in a call" even though my
name and the other user's name were in the Name list box.

Windows XP SP2 on both computers.

Does anyone know how to fix the Sharing part?

Thank You

Peter

XP x64 Hangs some App's on Keystroke Event ( driving me nuts!)

Author: NickLeeds

I have a new PC with XP pro 64bit installed and its driving me mad!

The machine seems to work just fine but with one rather annoying exception.
The only applications that will take keystrokes are 'Internet Explorer
(64-bit)' and 'notepad'.

Typing on the keyboard in any other application simply hangs that application.

BTW: Everything looks fine in device manager.

I dont know what I can do to resolve this, at the moment its pretty much
just an expensive ornament.

SPEC:
Motherboard: ASUA Maximus Formula
Processor: 1 x Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6700 (2.66Ghz)
Memory: 4 x 2GB
HDD: 4 x 750GB RAID 10 (resulting in around 1.4TB)
Graphics: 2 x ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO (driving 4x 19" TFT)
...and a few other bits!

Sagem Fast 800 modem on USB not detected

Author: Vaneric

I have what's really only a petty nuisance problem.
When I boot up the computer the Sagem modem isn't always there, pulling the
USB cable out and replugging it brings up the red then yellow then green
triangles on the task bar and all's ok again. Similarly I have a Samsung
Spinpoint hard drive set up in a cassette as an external back up drive, this
has the same behaviour, it's not there in 'my computer' when I start the
computer but pulling th USB cable out and replugging it brings it up in a
flash.

Everything then works ok until the next shutdown and restart.
There are no conflicts shown in the drivers and all the USB ports are listed
as working ok.

XP service pack 2. Eric.

PLEASE HELP!!!!! Can't Login after Network Identifier

Author: BouncingOtter
Date: Jan 27, 2008 15:28

Hi people, i could reall use some help here. . .

My windows xp pro laptop is part of a domain using windows server 2003.

I was at my fathers and for the sake of experimenting we were attempting to
setup a mini home network using an old hub we found. So after failing to
recieve a signal from his pc to my laptop. . . I was looking about in the
system window in control panel. I spotted a network identifier button and me
being me thought it might identify the home network and bob's your uncle . .
the computer would talk to each other. So i pressed the button.

BIG MISTAKE . . it did something then a window came up prompting me to
re-started for the setting to take effect. So i did this. Upon rebooting my
laptop i now can't login to windows at all using the any login i can remember
including the administrator password. It think its wiped all the domain login
settings and i don't have a scooby what to do about it.

Please help, i have no clue what happened or how to fix it. any advice would
be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I ran a full system scan and the pc seem to work OK after that.
I shuted down but i couldn't start it up anymore. It seemed like my boot
