  Reinstallation of XP versus repair

Author: Kevin

I recently had a 'NTLDR is missing' issue on my computer. After a series on
nonworking fixes, I'm wondering if I can reinstall XP on the hard drive...
Thing is, I have lot of items in documents and setting folders.

Will those files be overwritten/deleted/moved if a reinstallation is done
with the setup disk.

Would repair delete the files as well?

  framedyn.dll missing from dll cache

Author: Khym

When the error message "application has failed to start because framedyn.dll
was not found" I searched and found a fix (article ID 319114). However,
when I get to the dll cache the application isn't listed. Where did it go
and what do I do?

I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right place as this is my first visit
here. Any help or directions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

  RE: Product Key

Is it a laptop? try to check on the bottom.
Is it a desktop computer? Then try to check on the side of the tower, if the
software came preloaded with the computer contact your computer manufacturer
they can provide you with a replacement key, if you purchase your OS separate
from your computer and you got the CD with you contact this MS Customer
Service, they will provide you with a replacement key.

Thanks,

I am trying to get accesses to the following post:-

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?&query=diskeeper&lang...

which was posted in March 2007. When I enter this I get the messgae "No
posts available for this thread".

Is this due to it being so old? If Yes, is there a way to access it through
old archives?

I'm trying to load a program called IMAGINE YOUR DREAM HOME written for Win
95 and Win 98. I've tried the Compatibility Wizard in XP and no luck. I know
there is a procedure that will allow me to install the program because the
computer person at Staples typed the directions for me but he is no longer in
the area. My computer crashed and I cant find the directions. Can anyone help?
