Formatting Windows XP - change to Windows Vista - Corrupt files

Author: Nay_82

Hi there,

I am wondering if somebody can please help me. My computer all of a sudden
started running really slow after I put my blackberry program on it, however
I removed the program and it still ran slow. Went to get some more RAM put in
and the guy said my computer was corrupt, and that RAM wasnt my problem. So I
need to format my computer.

I realise this means taking everything off, I do have an external hard drive
but can somebody please help me through the steps of formatting. I also dont
realy want to loose all the programs I have put on such as MYOB, Norton etc

My other question is I dont actually have the XP disk, I didnt seem to
recieve it with the computer, however I have got one off a famil member but
its an earlier version, can I put Windows Vitsa on and use the same product
key that came with my computer, the guy at the shop said this was possible,
however I just wanted to check, If i am going to re-install it all I maise
well put the newer version on.

Thankyou for your help in advance!!

Cheers

Advice needed.
Am seeking to free-up some memory space on my laptop. On scrolling down the
Control Panel list of installed programs have found the following 2 listings:
occupying 25.48 MB
also occupying 25.48 MB

Question's: Can I uninstall the former without harming the latter? Or are
both programs necessary for the operation of WMP?

Blank black screen after starting up Windows XP

Author: msoda

2 out of every 5 startups lately, start-up seems to initiate then goes to
black screen. Ctrl/alt/del does nothing, task manager does not appear,
computer usually starts normally after a hard shut down. Any suggestions on
what is going on? Thank you in advance.
