  Uninstall Quicktime - XPProfessional 64

Author: Ashdog
Date: May 20, 2008 07:31

Hello - I have Quicktime 7.4.5 running on a 64 bot machine (Running Windows
XP, Professional x64 edition, V. 2003, SP 2).

I need to uninstall Quicktime so that I can a do a new install of the
Quicktime Alternate.

The basic Add/Remove program "successfully removes" Quicktime, but when I go
to run the Quicktime Alternative installer, it fails to start with an error
message, "Setup detected you already have Quicktime installed. You must
unistall Quicktime before you can install Quicktime Alternative."

Any thoughts?

Windows slow to load from Logo to Welcome Screen

Author: ocar23
Date: May 19, 2008 23:18

Since a suspected virus attack, I have a problem related to Windows loading
to the Welcome Screen. When the Progress Bars stop on the Windows Logo, it
takes 60 secs to get to the Welcome Screen. This is something new, only since
aa apparent Virus Attack. Can you advise what files could be affected and how
to correct the cause of this annoyance. FixMBR, FixBoot, SFC , Chkdsk have
not helped.
Also, but not neccessarily part of this problem, First Boot hangs during
BIOS Memory Test, Re-Boot is successful.
Win XP Pro SP2 ++++, P4 3.0, DDR400 4Gb on GA-81PE775Pro with GeForce 6600GT.
Any suggestions would be rather helpful. I have had this before but have
mislaid the fix.

Problem with SP3 booting on Media Center Laptop

Author: Graig
Date: May 19, 2008 17:13

SP3 installs without a problem and reboots when completed. The problem
appears after the computer has been shutdown and when turned on again it
boots and freezes at the "Windows is starting up" screen. There are no error
messages and can be booted in safe mode. Any ideas? I have exhausted all of
mine.

I need some help please! I have an XP OS and I can't even log on. It
appears to try to boot up, but it just keeps going in circles, doing the same
thing. I get one error that says: Isass.exe System Error Insufficient
system resources exist to complete the API. Can any one of you geniuses help
me...I really need it! Thank you so much! I am not sure where to post this
question, so if it is wrong, I apologize.

When I go to this page:
http://www.microsoft.com/australia/windows/products/windowsxp/default.mspx
running Windows Xp Pro SP3, I get:

"You are running Windows XP SP2"

No I'm not, it's SP3 genuine.

Tried on different computers, running SP3, same result!

Internet Explorer at 100%% utilization on power up.

Author: Pag

On power up off desktop pc running extremely slow. Using Process Explorer I
can see two sessions of internet explorer are open, one of which is using all
the procesing power. If I kill both of these the pc works ok, although
occassionally they reopen. In which case I can kill them and continue to work
ok. How can I stop these from starting up? I am currently on IE7 although
this still happens if I remove IE7 and run on IE6. I am also using Winows XP
home.
