When inserting a CD for ripping, WMP obtains the wrong CD info.
Would not be much of a problem, however, when I'm ripping two volumes
of a series of CD's, WMP overrides the files of the first ripped CD!
Strangely, the CD title is correct, but the artist, label, and
release-year are wrong.
After clicking "Edit" on the CD info on the Rip screen, the information
is then correct.
However, this is not an acceptable solution - I'm in the process of
ripping a 500 CD library!!!
Is this something that has been / will be fixed? I saw that the issue
came up several times in this group, and wondered whether it is being
looked at.
Thanks,

For a multi-CD series, you need to edit the Album Title for each so they
have unique names e.g. "War of the Worlds Disk !" etc

I've been through it for a 3000 CD library. Get used to it!

Looked at from a distance.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the quick response.
It's a good answer, but to a different case.
In this case, WMP brings up the correct CD title, but the astis, label,
and release are completely out, whereas the list of songs is empty.
It does this for two CD's from a series (not a multi-CD album, such as
WOTW in your example, rather like Budha Bar, Budha Bar Vol. 2, etc.).
>From your answer, I understand that I just have to live with it...
No chance of a bugfix from MS?

It means that the database entry doesn't have this information, and you
must add it manually. The database has become increasingly spare over
the last year or so; classical CDs rarely have track information now
from AMG et al.

I doubt if it's even seen as a bug.

Thanks, Mike,
I guess I'll have to key-in the odd ones ( :( being all the non-even
CD's )
I still don't understand why it brings up information of an unrelated
album.
In one case, it brought up a shuffled track list for Phil Collins
(strange, huh?)
Anyway, thanks again for the info.
Regards,

Not uncommon in my experience.
