I am facing a challange here in my network. We run Windows Media Server in
one of our servers. Our internet connection is limited, so we don't want to
give users full access to video content on the web. But there is a need of
access of a public TV (
mms://mediaserver.stf.gov.br/tvjustica). We want to
rebroadcast it internally, so that only the server gets the video streams
from the web and it retransmits it to the clients who request the service in
the intranet. This would mean that only one connection would be stablished to
the public stream server on the internet at a time.
But, Windows Media Server doesn't allow me to publish this service pulling
it from the address suplied above (
mms://mediaserver.stf.gov.br/tvjustica).
It requests me an http address or an rtsp address. I don't have any of them,
because this stream is from an outside source that I do not have access.
So, the question to the experts of Windows Media Services is: Can I do it,
or is it impossible with WMS ? If it is true that this is impossible with
WMS, is there any other workaround that could make that possible, even using
third-party software tools ? In that case, what tool could I use to make it
possible ?
