I am under Vista. I have made a WMM small movie, with extension .Wmv as
expected. I have a Philips DVD Recorder which cannot read Wmv extension.
Philips support tells me to convert my file into a MPEG1 or MPEG2 file.

Can someone tell me how to do it? Is there a step in WMM publishing where
this need can be indicated?

I'm using Windows Movie Maker with XP and no, no IE7. Now, when creating my
video there were no issues really. I saved it a couple times, but I didn't
actually have to open it again during its creation because I kept WMM running
the whole time I was making it. After it was completed I tried to save it as
a movie file. I've done this plenty of times with no issue, but the progress
bar stuck at 89%% and then the estimated time remaining went up. (65 seconds,
then 1 minute, then 4 minutes) I canceled and then attempted to save again,
but encountered the same issue. I restarted my computer and then when I tried
to open the project I was informed that WMM had enountered an error and
needed to close, so sorry.

It's very important that I rescue this file, because it was a creative
project and there is basically no way I could redo it. Especially because
when I tried to do that, create another version of it, I had the same error
when trying to open THAT saved file. However, WMM is okay when opening other
projects I've finished long ago, at least for now.

Please... can anybody help me, and soon?

You can tell by my hi-tech terms that I'm a hobbyist more than a computer
genius.

So here's the deal, I work and edit and add all my features and then
playback what I've done. It looks great on the settting up but when it gets
to about 4 or 5 minutes into the film the audio continues as normal but the
video is all jerky,uneven withstops/starts. I'd like to do something of at
least a 30 minute length and don't know if I need more memory or how much
memory do I need. Becuse I work on a network I can only save to my laptop and
can't use that resource . Cheers BG.

I see this newsgroup is for Windows ME Movie Maker, is there a newsgroup for
Windows XP Movie Maker?

I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 and every time I open Movie Maker, an error
box pops up and I have clicked Debug and Send Error Report but it always
closes Movie Maker and I am not able to use Movie Maker. Has anyone else
had this problem?

I guess Movie Maker downloaded years ago when I got SP2 and I have just
recently tried to use it. I do have all my updates.

When I save a movie and re open it, the pictures go very small. Is there a
way to return them to the original size? I must be missing something simple

I have mastered the art of putting in the pictures and lining them up with
the music. I saved them to "my videos". The music and pictures play back
beautifully in movie maker, but only the pictures show up when played back on
media player. This is very distressing, as I am hoping to add these things
to my websites for my students.

Can anyone PLEEEEEEZE tell me what I am doing wrong!
