you stick it up your arse all the time to measure its looseness

if it starts tightening you go for another rotten whale session

Lack of fax in Home Premium vs XP Home cause for action?

Author: angbob
Date: Dec 26, 2008 15:53

"Windows XP Home Edition" has fax.
"Vista Home Premium" lacks fax.

The designation "Home Premium" represents the product to be superior to
"Home Edition", but removing fax renders "Home Premium" inferior.

Microsoft has misrepresented its product.

Should we worry about a class action?

  Help wanted... installing Printer...

Author: Kathryn

HP Pavilion with Vista 32 bit system ... with an Epson RX500 all-in-one
installed - USB Hard wired.
Wireless network in the home.

Other laptops (in particular Dell Inspiron 9300 with XP) able to install and
print correctly. (wireless connection)

New HP dv7-1175nr notebook with Windows 64 bit Vista. (wireless connection)

Have worked through the ADD PRINTER process multiple times --
unsuccessfully. Errors range from can't find driver... to Installed
successfully -- but then the document won't print (print error).

Any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

  screensavers won't stay

I have successfully installed an American Greeting screensaver to the
screensaver list, click apply and closed it. When it never started I looked
at the list and it was gone from there. How can I get it to stay in the
screensaver list and come up and work the same as the preinstalled ones?

  RE: dialer.exe

URGH, apparently, according to
http://www.vistax64.com/vista-mail/61717-contacts-dialer.html

we must store our numbers in Canonical (International) format. Instead of "1
555 555-5555", store the number as "+1 (555) 555-5555". The first number
will confuse dialing rules and result in the number "1 5 555-5555" being
dialed, a number which obviously won't work. Try it yourself, change the
number format to "+1 (555) 555-5555" and see what happens.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/247192/en-us
You Must Enter Telephone Numbers in Canonical Form in Order to Use Dialing
Rules
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318575/en-us
Dialing rules may not be applied to tools such as Fax and Phone Dialer on
Windows XP-based and Windows Vista-based computers

Kind of a hassle?

I am having the same problem with version 6.0 Build 6001: Service Pack 1
running on Windows Vista Business Service Pack 1 (i.e. 2nd and 3rd digits of
the area code are lost; 231-456-7890 becomes 2-456-7890). This happens
regardless of the dialing rule settings (e.g. disable call waiting, dial full
area code, dial 1, etc.). It happens when faxing using Windows unless the
setting is used to dial the number exactly as entered and skip
checking/applying dialing rules. I did not have this problem using the
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 version of dialer.exe. I wonder what
changed to cause it to drop the 2nd and 3rd digits of the area code. Very
frustrating!

How to get rid of old System Volume Infom..

Author:
Date: Dec 26, 2008 10:14

I have this System Volume Information folder of about 4gig on
an old XP-system disk, which now is in use as a back up disk
on my Vista box.
After taken the ownership and the rights of the folder I´m
allowed coming into it, but not to delete it.
What I googled up on this issue apparently doesn´t hold.
Does anyone knows how to get rid of this folder.

Thanks.
