No, I didn't just yank the cable. I stopped the drive service in the Remove
Hardware dialogue. Waited for the "safe to remove" message, and turned it
off. The error message started appearing as soon as Windows mounted the new
drive to format it.

I'll check on the report wizard first thing in the morning, if the report
is missing again.
