  Server 2003: folder size quotas?

Author: JR
Date: Jun 8, 2010 12:31

hello folks

I'm sorry if this is a basic question, but I can't find the answer...

I'm trying to limit my user's usage of more disk space than I'm
willing to give them. Specifically, I want to stop network forlder XX
from beging bigger than XGBs, without imposing limits on the rest of
the network disk. Is this possible?

tahnsk for any help

  svchost

Hello,
I have Windows Server 2003 Enterprise running on a two node cluster.
Recently, the main node used to stop and restart. In attempt to monitor, I
have observed that one of the services running under svchost constantly
consumes around 50%% of processor power. I have downloaded and ran Process
Explorer of Sysinternals. In the Threads tab of the process properties, I
noticed that one thread is what causes that. How can I explain this? I want
to know why it is happening that way.

  Patch Folders

Author:
Date: Jun 7, 2010 23:42

Windows Server 2003 R2 with SP2 + the latest patches. This is an AD
controller.

Would it be ok to manually delete the following folders?

C:\WINDOWS\$hf_mig$ (about 990MB)
C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$ (about 500 MB)
C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB******$ (total of 400+ MB, where ****** = KB
number)

I'd like to gain 2GB of free space on my C volume. The free space on C
volume is currently at 800MB. If I delete and purge them, will there be any
problem (assuming that I don't want to uninstall patches)?

Thanks in advance.
