UPDATE:
Here are the results:
Recall, I originally wanted usb2 (two) speed transfers instead of the
USB1, hence the appeal for better drivers.
WinTricks transfers averaged 57MB/min. Uninstalled them and installed
Native USB Mass Storage Driver for Win98SE version 2.4. Transfer speeds
were decreased to (trying to remember) about 40MB/min. Although
considerably SLOWER than WinTricks, the good thing was there were no
more conflicts showing in Device Manager! Tried the latest version of
Native USB Mass Storage Driver for Win98SE v3.1. Transfer speeds
improved to about 43 MB/min (still awful!) but again there were no
Device Manager conflicts as with WinTricks.
Decided to leave Native USB Mass Storage Driver for Win98SE installed.
If anybody has had success getting USB2 (two) transfer speeds from their
port to a HD I'd sure appreciate knowing how you did it!!!
