I have A and B pc's networked. A had XP SP2, B is Win2K SP4. B can access
shares in fixed drives on A, but cannot access USB shared drives. Having
searched for "Not enough..." error, and for Event ID 2011 too, I find the
IRPStackSize fix, and another message saying about SP3.
Computer A didn't had the IRPStackSize value, so I added it, first time I
assign 18 dec, it didn't work, then I did increase the value by 3 dec and
tried again, and so until it reached 50 dec, never worked.
Computer A has several partitions with different operating systems which i
use for testing and another purposes, one of that have XP SP3, so i tried to
access it from B and voilá!, it works!. Then I did update the A main system
(XPSP2, remember) to SP3 and, unfortunately, the USB share either didn't
work. Meanwhile, the shares in internal fixed drives continued to work. Then
I was thinking to update to SP3 another XPSP2 operating system installed in
another partition but, previously, I had the inspiration of trying to access
it and, surprisingly for me, it works!, and, of course, all the other shares
did. By the way, it's (almost allways) administrative shares that i was
trying, but neither administrative or normal shares, I can't access them if
they are in USB drives, in the A computer with the "main" system. However, I
can access all USB and internal shares in B from A.
All XP versions are Pro, Win2000 is also Pro. ...
