I still do not believe this and invite you to provide the
coordinates and weights for max. 16 rational control points and
two knot vectors for a NURBS torus.
I am curious, whether you can beat the surface quality of my
B-Spline based solution which looks a little bit noncircular
from the top.
Note: improved version of my solution available as Ayam
example object now.

If you look at the context of my response to yours, the "16"
was about your claim of 7 for a *circle*. But that was silly
for me to say now, wasn't it.
