...older DX9-SDKs, asm shaders have been the only way to use many of the newest features of shader model 3, and some non-microsoft toolchains for shader development rely on asm shader "assemblers" beeing availbale, when targetting MS DiectX, so let's hope they won't remove vsa/psa from the SDK in near future. But what about DX10? Does a DX10-device still have the option of setting compiled...
