I have a XML stored in a column of datatype xml.
i need to return the the xml on selecting the row .
i am using java,jdbc for creating the connection amd fetching the
values.
but my xml is returned as string i need to do xml transformation for
showing it the user.
how can i do xml -xslt transformation...pls guide me

Hello,

I'm no developer so I need your help ASAP my Purchase Request system is down
and eveyone is looking at me.

1. Windows 2003 Standard
2. MOSS 2007
3. 2 Front end servers
4. One SQL DB Server
5. Microsoft Dynamics GP Business Portal is connected.
6. Perfromed Windows Update two days ago on all three servers and did not
notice this error.
7. I extened Web Application http://Geneva:222 ; this morning to
http://DynamicsBP:80. I dont know if this caused the failure!

The Purchase Request site gives the error bellow when users tries to select
create new Purchase Order or view saved purchase order.

Any help fixing this issue would be great!

can anyone suggest me in doing the transformation from xml to xsl

i have a column in my DB which is of xml datatype.
for eg this is my xml content in the column.







i need to select this xml column and do the transformation .
direct tranformation from xml to xslt is fine,i require how to select
from the sql and pass it

I'm parsing an xml data type to import those data into a table. My current
approach is:

Declare @xDoc Xml
Set @xDoc = some xml
Set @sReferenciaID = @xDoc.value('declare namespace
ns="http://Homex.WS.FacturacionElectronica.DataTypes/2007/12";
/ns:OrdenAceptacion/ns:Addenda/ns:ReferenciaID)[1]', 'varchar(max)')
Set @sAlmacenCodigo = @xDoc.value('declare namespace
ns="http://Homex.WS.FacturacionElectronica.DataTypes/2007/12";
(/ns:OrdenAceptacion/ns:Addenda/ns:AlmacenCodigo)[1]', 'varchar(max)')
...

But there are dozens of such fields! It is a little boring to type all that
stuff, specially the namespace over and over again. May be is it another
more compact way to write this?

I have many documents that contian document identification element like below. There is a schema that defines this element.
This schema is published to customers so that they can create content to be sent to us and imported into our system, with many more content elements.

One attribute docID is GUID type and is required. They have an original XML document of theirs, which ahs no such concept, and claim they have no way to produce/generate/add this docID GUID in XSLT transformation.
I have never used XSL myself so I am not sure.
I wonder if this is true.
Can anyone confirm or disprove this?
Any examples?

Our VB programmers are re-writing some of our systems in .net. They have
asked me if they can send me an xml representation of the data. This looks
like a good idea to me too.

I have seen that I can parse this using sp_xml_preparedocuement. I can work
out what is to be inserted, updated or deleted. The documents will be quite
large and complex.

Before I commit to the new design could some one explain to me exactly what
256 limit means? I'm an xml noob.

procedure which returns records based on two columns, e.g.
