We will soon be deploying MS SQL Server 2005 as a prelude to migration
into ERP software which uses MS SQL as the back-end database engine.
An issue has come up regarding "special characters". We are a company
that manufactures electronic assemblies, and the makers of the parts
we buy frequently use characters such as - " ' / %% \, etc. The use of
these characters is imperative to specification of the exact part
required.
Does MS SQL Server 2005 Have a problem with these "special"
characters?
Also, we will be purchasing Software Assurance so that we can igrate
to MS SQL Server 2008 as soon as it is certified for use by our ERP
vendor. Does SQL 2008 also have the same problems with "special"
charaters???
All comments and guidance greatly appreciated.
Thanks
