Dear Scott,
Thank you for your update.
I am glad to hear that we are able to go through with the install of the
Tools via the "SKUUPGRADE=1" switch box. Your efforts are appreciated.
Regarding your question, I would like to explain that the version
"
9.2.3042.00" just applies to the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
client tool and this version is the latest one. The Service Pack 2 for SQL
Server is used to fix some known issues and add some feature of the SQL
engine and it will not do any changes on the management client tool. So, if
you find the version of Management Studio keeps being
9.2.3042.00 even
after re-applying SQL Server SP2, this is a normal behavior.
For your reference, we can run the command "select SERVERPROPERTY
('productlevel')" to manually check the version of SQL DB engine to confirm
if the SQL Server 2005 SP2 has been installed successfully,
In addition, I also notice that the SP version is 050727-7600. It indicates
that the current version of Visual Studio is Service Pack 1.
From all the information you uploaded, it seems that all the components are
up to date and everything works fine now.
If you have any question or need my further assistance, please feel free to
let me know. I am glad to help.
Have a nice day!
Best regards,
Adams Qu, MCSE, MCDBA, MCTS

| So I did the SKUUPGRADE=1 as a parameter to Setup.exe inthe tools folder.
|
| It went through with the install of the Tools.
|
| Though the thing that concerns me is that the version went from
9.2.3042.00
| to 9.0.3042.00.
| I did reapply SP1 for Visual Studio and SP2 for SQL (in that order) and
it
| still shows 9.0.3042.00 for the SQL Management Studio.
|
| My Concern is that I might be missing something?
|
| Thanks,
