I believe that for SQL2K, you need one license per instance for Standard Edition (non-Enterprise)
and in Per User mode.
However, for Enterprise (any mode) you can install several instance with same license.
Also for Standard (and probably Workgroup) in Per Processor mode, you can install several instance
with same license.
This is from memory, the SQL2K licensing FAQ page. I don't know if the SQL2K licensing FAQ page is
online anymore, though...
