X-post to IE General and Security newsgroups.

It appears to be a harmless scam but you'll need expert assistance to remove
it; cf. cf. http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r20082590-MonaRonaDona-virus and

Can anybody suggest an anti-virus solution that can scan the contents of
*.pst, *.ost & *.dbx files? I am looking for a solution that can run from a
script and does not need to be installed.

  Anti-Virus Software without Internet Connection

Author: sanswoo
Date: Feb 26, 2008 08:03

I have a computer that is used for processing classified information.
Under our security protocols, we cannot allow this computer to be
connected to the internet, yet we must maintain up-to-date antivirus
software on it. Norton and McAfee both require updates be received
online. Windows Defender requires the operating system be verified
through their Genuine Advantage program.

Is there any mainstream anti-virus program that I can install without
registering it online and still receive updated virus definition files
(e.g. from a CD either direct from the company or downloaded to
another computer)?

Thanks!

  adwarw bug

I recently pick up a "bug" that is driving me up the wall. I keep getting
popups in internet explorer 6 at any and all times. I get up in the morning
and there will be 15-20-25 popups on my screen. I have run all sorts of
virus (Norton, Adaware, RegClean etc to) trying to cure the problem to no
avail. I am including some screen shots of what I am getting. The key seems
to be something called CiD (see circled on the screen shots) buried in my
system. I can't find anything that looks like this CiD thing. The IE pop
up blocker does no good. Can anyone help me out or head me in the right
direction. I am using WinXP Home on an HP computer. I ran the HighJackThis
scan program and got the attached results. Can anyone tell what the culprit
might be and where to find. I made some...

Avast does not allow sending included .mht file with e-mail

Author:
Date: Feb 18, 2008 22:56

Hello,

Every time I try to send a .mht-file (webpage saved by Internet
Explorer) as a 'included file' (don't remember the English word) with
a e-mail by Outlook Express, Avast Home Ed. gives following error:

Suspect extension of 'Included file'.
* (file name).mht
Content type does not match the extension of the Included file
* (file name).mht - message/rfc822

I don't believe this and suppose this to be a false positive but
cannot be sure. Avast does not give support for Home version except
via useless forum.

Can anyone give usefull comment?

Thanks,

Massimo

Need a virus for your computer? Try Yahoo.

Do you need a computer virus in a hurry? Yahoo is by far the best place.

Todays count gave me 21739 posts with only one variety of trojan.

Details, not virus itself :) , are at http://justblurbs.com/
