switch from one email address to another like Outlook

My husband and I each have our own email addresses in Outlook Express, very
easy to use, but do not understand why it cannot be done in Office. We
switched to Office because every few weeks the system would do it
automatically and we tired of having to go through the procedures of changing
our account back to Outlook Express. Any advise is welcomed!

Cannot be done in Office or you don't know how to do it in Office?

You set the deafult Mail program via Internet Connections.
If you dont want to use outlook, insert the Office cd, select modify/change
installation, then make Outlook not available. - it will be uninstalled
If outlook is installed, office updates will set outlook as default

You weren't switching between e-mail accounts. You were switching
between *identities* in Outlook Express. The closest to that for
Outlook is the use of mail profiles. Use the Mail applet in Control
Panel to create different mail profiles. Then make sure to NOT select
one as the default. When you start Outlook, you will then get asked for
which mail profile you want during that Outlook session.

If the "system" is changing every few weeks to [re]install MS Office
then it doesn't sound like it is your host to play around with its
software configuration. Is the host your employer's property? Ask the
owner of the host as to how they want it used.

If OE is set as default email client, (or any other email client for that
matter), and Office (including Outlook) is installed on the machine, every
time an Outlook Update is installed, Outlook steals the Default Email client
function. It's a well-known "feature"...

Uninstall Outlook. That will fix the default problem.

"Switching" between Office (or actually Outlook) and OE wasn't clear.
Couldn't meant that Office somehow kept reappearing (getting
reinstalled) on their host. I suppose the "switching" could've also
meant the default e-mail client was changing between Outlook (not
Office) and OE.
