Hi

I have looked through the posts and help files but cannot seemed to find an
answer.

Using Outlook 2003 SP3, is there a way I can stop sending emails
automatically when the programme opens.

Thanks, Rob

Tools | Options | E-Mail-Setup | Send/Receive

Uncheck there the option "Schedule an automatic send/receive every x
minutes"

Note: If this option is disabled you have to press the send/receive
button in the toolbar manually to check your account for new emails.

Thank you Christian

I do have this option checked so that I look for new emails every 5 minutes.

However, I have just attached a mobile phone to my pc, 2 days now, and when
I open outlook I notice several outgoing emails in the Outbox but could not
read them because they were gone too soon. I want to know what is being
sent without my knowledge.

Thanks for the solution. I will try it out.

Regards, Rob

Which is too short. Set it back to the default setting of 10 minutes....

Why? As long as Rob doesn't have any issues with this interval, there is
no reason to increase that value.

You're welcome ;-)

Sure, but that also means that Outlook checks your account for new mails
at the start.

Sorry for the delay guys, weekend away.

When I opened Outlook there were a couple of emails to go but I couldn't
look at them because the send process had started.

I unchecked the send time option and was able to find out the details of the
emails. The emails are to and from my Blackberry but as I don't like the
idea, I have removed the software until I can find out exactly what is being
sent and received.

Thanks for your help.

Regards, Rob
