running outlook 2003, windows vista home premium. Using wireless network
with desktop and laptop. When using outlook on laptop, it works fine until I
close outlook and close top of laptop. when open laptop and start outlook
again, it will not connect to incoming server on aol. If I reboot computer
it works fine until i repeat the above process. It also appears to be okay
if i minimize outlook and shut top down. Any suggestions on how to fix
this. Thanks.

In my experience, Outlook doesn't do well with Vista's sleep mode.

Have you checked as to whether Outlook has properly closed?
Look in Task Manager>Running Processes Tab for outlook.exe, likely its still
running

If you are putting Vista into sleep, why bother closing Outlook in the first
place? I don't and I have no trouble re-connecting to my mail server on
awakening....
