Outlook 2007 install problems

I'm trying to install Outlook 2007 over Office XP. The install runs fine,
but when I bring up Outlook, it crashes. I get the usual screen where it
sends a report to MS, but I have no clue as to what to do next.

I go through the safe startup. No change.

I downloaded all the updates from the Windows Update. No change.

The only unusual thing I see is that Outlook starts by asking about the LDAP
server, which doesn't exist.

I'm running XP pro SP3. I could use some help here since I'm going nowhere
fast.

Thanks

Jack

1, Try a new mail profile.

2. If you still get the LDAP prompt, then go to your account settings,
change the address book options and then remove the LDAP service.

I deleted the mail profile through the Control Panel.

Throught he control panel, I created a new profile. I create one email
account.

I start outlook, and it never comes up all the way, it winds up at the error
screen.

This is realy bizarre. I'm not sure where to turn. The error screen gives me
no advice (other then urging me to send messages to Microsoft).

Did you uninstall Outlook 2002 first? If you don't, it can cause problems.

If you installed Outlook as part of an Office suite, run Office diagnostics
from Word or Excel - look for it in the Office icon, options button at the
lower right of the menu.
