I'm running Office 2007 Pro on Win XP Pro.

When an email arrives, I hear a tone and a little window appears in
the lower right-hand corner of the screen showing the name of the
sender. It remains visible for a few seconds and then fades away. It
does not take over the focus or affect the active task in any way.

This is an exscellent implementation.

Is there any way to get the task reminders to pop up in the same way?
As it is, they take over the focus and screw up the active task.

You can't change how reminders pop up.
