Exchange 2003: The e-mail account does not exist at the organization" when sending to ONE INTERNAL user

We run Exchange 2003 in a WIndows 2000 domain. Most of our clients
(including the problem user) use citrix, so the setup for individuals
has little variation on basics such as Outlook 2003. We have a bizarre
problem with just one user, in that sometimes when other (internal
users) send to her email, they get this error:
'Jane Doe (jane.doe@ourcompany.com)' on 25/09/2007 12:34
The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this
message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the
recipient directly to find out the correct address.

The user does indeed exist in the organisation and has done for many
years. This problem has been going on for quite some time (months).

Additionally, as well as people sometimes not being able to send to
her, sometimes she also has problems sending out and several times a
day (sometimes much more), she is prevented from sending emails with
the error:

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

is it possible that there is a conflicting "contact" in some people's
contacts folder for this user? or maybe an smtp address conflict in the
GAL? what happens if they select the user from the GAL? same thing?

Hi,

I dont think an address conflict in the GAL is likely. If you try and
add an email address in AD which already exists, you are prevented
from doing so for that very reason. Several users have reported
problems in sending to the problem user's mailbox and I feel it is a
little unlikely that they would all have problem contacts. Please not
that this is an occasional problem. The issue about "No transport
provider was available for delivery to this
recipient" is far more frequent (daily).

Im afraid I konw very little about the legacyExchangeDN attribute. How
do I find this out? I do not believe any of her email addresses have
changed in teh last few months.

Thanks,

C
