Recte:

The .pst file is at:

C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook

It's only 265 KB.

Where's the rest of Outlook?

Are you using Outlook for email? All the pst's are in the folder, unless you
put them somewhere else.

Nope.

I'm using WLM for email and newsgroups and OE before that.

But Outlook, with all the updates, is installed.

So what is the question? The size of the pst doesn't matter if you haven't
used it. (It looks like you or someone set up a profile at one time.)

If you aren't using it you have two choices: keep it installed and put up
with the changing default or uninstall it. It should not be about how much
disk space outlook uses - all of office ultimate is about 700 megs and disk
drives are generally huge so you won't gain a large %% of free space - it
should be about whether you are willing to keep resetting the default.

No...

If Outlook only consumes 33 MB...

Why bother removing it?

For some reason I no longer get the annoying default message...perhaps
MS fixed that in either Outlook or WLM -- or both.

So, it's just easier to keep Outlook installed, in case Microsoft
screws the pooch on WLM "improvements" and experimentation and I have
to fallback to Outlook.

Soon, I can't use OE anymore with a POP3 account.

So, belt and suspenders is the better choice.

Further, if I start removing Outlook and its several updates who knows
what else in MS Office may come unhinged and start giving me error
messages.

I get the strong impression that the WLM team is just not as SMART as
the OE team was....

Hence my caution.

Outlook 2003 Junk E-mail filter appeared in the "Second Tuesday of the
month" updates. I don't use Outlook, I use Windows Live mail.

After installation, I too noticed that when I opened WLM, it no longer
told me it wasn't the default e-mail client. So, that particular
annoyance seems to have been removed.

Yep...

But it took a LONG time to fix it.
