  outlook cached email address

Author: Dave
Date: Dec 26, 2008 04:57

Is there a way to copy the cached email addresses from one system to another?

I am an IT consultant and get a lot of complaints when upgrading client
systems.

They are not real good at adding contacts to their contact list and rely on
the cached addresses. But when you install a new system and transfer the pst
file you do not get the cache of email addresses.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Dave

You might want to use this tool from MS below and see if it corrects the issue

I cannot get Screensaver (photos) to work on a new laptop.

Author: JSathe

I have been configuring my new HP laptop. Screensaver does not work even
though it is set up identical to my previous laptop. It runs on the
"preview", but not in real life.

Anybody got any ideas.

Can you determine if this dialog is from Microsoft Office or from one of
your addins that you have installed?
The issue would indicate an installation corruption. Running a repair on the
software (Office or the addin) will most likely solve it.
Disabling/uninstalling the addin is also an option.

Without any exact details it is hard to be more specific.
You could also take a look at the Event Viewer to see if there is anything
logged about this there. When the issue is with Office, it is very likely
that there is something logged there.

  Installing Outlook 2007

I will try and answer your questions>

What exactly are you trying to achieve? I want to install Outlook 2007
without Cached mode on and have the Send/recieve settings setup so that the
user can work offline.
How are you trying to achieve this? Configuring the MSP with these settings.
What are results? Mixed results. Sometimes I get the cached mode off and
sometimes it is on.
What were your expected results? That it would work like my first answer.

As far as the reg setting, we have over 6000 users and I cannot be sure they
all have the default profile name of Outlook. I can "assume" that, but I am
sure some have been changed.

  Outlook crashes during every send/receive

Author: Emmysa
Date: Sep 22, 2008 18:52

When Outlook performs a send/receive it crashes, sends a report and restarts.
I cannot stop the cycle unless I cancel e-mail send/receive. I had a data
error but ran scanpst.exe and now I can access my data files. Where do I
look or what do I do to stop the crash? Please help.

restoring Outlook 2003 using a system backup?

Author: myshl
Date: Sep 22, 2008 17:14

I did a system backup, then started reloading all the software to try to
clean up my system. I thought I could restore the Outlook data from the
system backup.

I've taken the system backup file and restored it to an external hard drive.
When I look in the App Data/Microsoft/Outlook folder, there is a file called
"Outlook", but it's an "office data file" not a "personal folder file".

I'm really kicking myself because (of course) there was alot of information
in Outlook I need for work. Now I'm not sure how to restore it.

I appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you.
