I am considering signing up for one of the email fax systems such as
MyFax.

In reading over the FAQs, I learned that MyFax uses the destination
phone number as the email address. If I want to send a fax to
888-555-1212, I send an email to 18885551212@myfax.com.

If it's just a short message, I can type it in the email message. If
it's a document, such as a Word document, I attach the document to the
email.

I am wondering how secure this is? Some of my documents are
confidential and some of them are legally privileged. When they leave
my machine and go out over the internet, those attachments are not
encrypted, right? They will pass through a number of nodes enroute to
myfax.com. Could some at one of the intermediate nodes look at the
attachments?

Hi,
Is there a way to type in a fax number directly into the address section of
an email (ie not having to create a business fax record in outlook
contacts).
I seem to recall in earlier versions you could type:
fax:888-8888-8888
and it would send that fax (which was great for mail merge) but it doesn't
seem to work with windows xp and office/outlook 2007- unless i am missing
something - which does happen sometimes.

Tried Microsoft Fax for first time, able to Send but not Receive via
Dell Conexant D850 56K V.pXDFVc Modem.

Also have Thomsom Speed Touch DSL Modem, DSL Line Filter, one side to
DSL Modem, other to Telephone recepticle on Dell Dimension 4700 PC.
Heve Windows XP, latest SP3 and Outlook 2007, 1GB Memory.

I used a Screen Printer to save all configurations of the fax
configuration wizard and save the displays just in case you
ask for them and I have gone back through the configuration several
times.

Russ Valentine discussion of May 06, 2004 at 5:50 pm did not indicate
what should be tried although the symptoms are the same as my problem.

This is my first time reporting a problem...ever.

Outlook 2007(with BCM)-Vista Home Premium-Brother MFC7820N Network scanner

Cannot get Outlook to recognize fax. So each fax has to go thru a print
driver and I have to type in each fax number each time.
Have searched online for weeks - no options. Any ideas how to fax a doc
using the outlook and this hi-tech hardware to work together?
(many of my contacts require fax rather than email. Fairly active volume.
On line faxing seems to be just as complex as using print driver.)
