I have a contacts file made in Outlook 2000. The file contains Japanese
text. There is no problem to input and see Japanese text in Outlook 2000.
When I tried to export and import the contact file via .pst file, The text
does not show up correctly. I also tried to export the contacts file in
Excel or other format, but no avail. Does someone know how to solve this
problem?

When you say "tried to export and import the contact file via .pst file",
what do you mean? Outlook 2000 already uses a PST. Why are you exporting
and importing? Just open the original PST in the new Outlook
(File>Open>Outlook Data File). Do you see the Japanese characters then?

Yes. I opened the PST in the new Outlook, and still did not see the
Japanese characters. When I opened the PST in the old Outlook, I did see the
Japanese characters.

Yes. I can create Contacts in Japanese in the new version.
I just cannot see Contacts created in the old version.
