Server Blew - Address Books Lost

Our office server blew over 2 weeks ago. We have recovered all e-mail except
My Address Books are Missing and I still have a Calender & Calendar1 &
Contacts & Contacts1 - neither of which I can delete or rename. Calendar1 &
Contacts1 contain my information but Calendar & Contacts are blank and cannot
be deleted.
We backed up my outlook on my hard drive. Is there any what I can: recover
my multiple address books, put the information in Calendar1 & Contacts1 into
the other 2 folders, or at least delete and rename the ones I want to keep?
Thanks!
Moira

How did you "recover" the data? Describe exactly what you did.

Outlook's "address book" is nothing more than a view of your Contacts
folders. It doesn't contain any data on its own.

Hi Brian:

The guy who sold us the new Server did the re-install. He managed to
re-install my Outlook and all my e-mails twice and then couldn't figure out
why I was over quota! I'm the one who found the duplication of all the
e-mail folders. We have been 3+ weeks at this, and I have about 7 or 8
address books that are M.I.A.. Apparently he keeps saying I thought I got
your stuff all fixed. I am at a point that I want to fix it myself. I did
backup my Outlook to a mailbackup.pst file. I would even like the option of
printing out my address books, and re-creating them. There are several of us
in the same office in the same boat, all ready for rubber tooms!
Thanks!

Brian, I forgot to mention that we were supposed to get Outlook 2003 and
instead our tech guy install Outlook 2000.
Thanks again!

Are you using Exchange or are you using PSTs for your data storage?

Sounds like the techie copied entire folders rather than the contents of the
folders. Open, for example, Contacts1 and select all the items in it with
CTRL-A. Then click Edit>Copy and specify Contacts as the destination. To
the same with Calendar1 and Calendar. You'll need to display Calendar1 in a
table view like By Category before CTRL-A will select all the items. When
you've finished copying, right-click Calendar1 or Contacts1 and choose
Delete or simply select the folder and press Delete on the keyboard.
