We use Outlook 2003 but one of my computers just had Office 2007
installed with Outlook 2007. I have found that when I am in Outlook
2007 and bring up one of my personal distribution lists from my
contacts file in the send box and click on the plus sign, the list is
blank (only semicolons appear). The message will not send even if I
don't click on the plus sign. I contacted our IT person and he tested
his distribution list in Outlook 2007 and it worked fine. He
suggested that my profile might be causing the problem and so I
reinstalled it. The distribution list worked fine and then the next
day, I couldn' t get it to work.
Has anyone else noticed this problem?
Thanks,
BHJr

No information here. State what information store you are using and how this
DL was created.

I have exactly the same problem. I created my DL in Outlook 2003, but
recreated in 2007. I still have the same problem. Is there no solution?

Depends. Care to provide the information I requested, including how you
migrated this DL from 2003 to 2007 and how you are selecting the recipient?

Actually, I migrated the DL from Outlook 2000, not 2003. I installed the MS
Office 2007 Suite, which included Outlook, over the MS Office 2000 Suite. I
did not uninstall the old Suite first. Anyway, the new Outlook (2007)
installation captured all the settings from my old pst file, including my
DLs. After I discovered the described problem, I deleted the DL and
recreated the DL in Outlook 2007, but had the same result - semicolons
instead of names when I expanded the DL. I recreated the DL by opening
Contacts, right-clicking in the open area, and selecting "New Distribution
List". I named the DL and selected "Select Members" from the "Members" group
in the ribbon at the top. I selected all the recipients from the Global
Address List. I added them to the DL by clicking on "Members"...

Is this a DL you created in your Exchange mailbox or the GAL?

DL's created in the GAL are an Exchange issue, not an Outlook issue. Have
you asked your Exchange administrator?

I set up a DL using the Add New icon which involved manually entering
email addresses not on our Global list and manually entering one on
the Global list. The DL worked. It appears the importing from GAL
using the Select Members icon does not work. I will contact our
Exchange Administrator but the DL importing from the GAL works on my
2003 Outlook and does not on my Outlook 2007.

I've never seen importing a DL work. You create the DL where you want to use
it.
