I can't click the 'add this contacts list as an address book' option and when
I look it up on the web I keep being told to 'start the OAB Service in
Outlook' by using tools/services.
But htis doesn't exist.
I have an Exchange Mailbox (from which I can see the address book no
problem) and an Oultook (POP3) address book which I can't add to the list. I
have checked my profile to make sure I am an administrator.

What version of Outlook? What do you mean by "Outlook (POP) address book"?
There is no such option labeled "add this contacts list as an address book",
since Outlook doesn't use the term "contacts list". There is an option
"Show this folder as an e-mail Adress Book", in the properties of a contacts
folder, however, so be explicit in describing what you mean and exactly what
you're trying to do. Does your mail profile contain the Outlook Address
Book service?

Thanks for the reply. My Oultook version is 2007 as it said in th eheader of
my post. Youa re correct in what you describe - I meant 'SHow this folder as
an email address book'.
I can't find anything about Outlook Address Book Service anywhere - and my
problem is that when all the 'solutions' I have read refer to my 'mail
profile' I am unable to find what they are talking about.
How do I check my 'mail profile'?

Thank you. But the instrruction to do that dont bear any relation to
reality. The Help in Outlook says:
In Microsoft Windows, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
Do one of the following:
Windows Vista Click User Accounts, and then click Mail.
Note In Classic view, double-click Mail.
In neither the Vista view nor the CLassic view does the Mail option appear.
If it had I would have done that by now.

I think you are either reading Help incorrectly, or it's wrong. Click on
Start-Control Panel. Change to Classic view (if you are not in it already)
and the Mail applet is on that screen, NOT within User accounts.

I finally found it. It was within the '32 bit applications' or some such.
So if i create a new profile do I have to create all my email accounts again
in the new profile? I have about 6, one of which is an Exchange account. I
guess just copying wouldn't fix the problem?
Recently I had a problem with deleting files even though my .pst is not very
big. I created a new one of those and sorted out the problem, although
thisproblem existed before I had to do that.

No, you have to re-create the accounts in the new profile.

into the new profile, or would thatnot work either?
