incompatibility between office XP and 2003

Hello,
Daily i get 20 to 30 emails, i add them to DL based on different dates and
after adding to DL i use to delete the contacts from address book because i
only need email ID to send any promotions in future. It was working fine. I
was using office XP.
Reason to delete the Email ID from address book after adding to DL is we
keep on adding contacts on daily basis and need seperate them date wise. so
after adding new contacts to address book it will place itself alphabetically
in address book so it becomes for us to search that contact and then add it
to new date wise DL so once we add all contacts to DL we delete them from
address book so when we add new contacts we come to know that this is newly
added and we then add it to new date wise Dl and again delete it from address
book.
Now i upgraded to office 2003 and the problem is after adding the contact to
DL when i delete the contact from address book , the contact from DL is also
getting deleted. So how can i recolve this?
Or whether we are following any wrong procedure to adding contacts tp DL?
thanks and waiting for your cooperation
regards
SAM ...

It has never been recommended that you store recipients only in a DL. You've
proven why. DL's barely even work when managed properly and rarely survive
migration to another installation. Few people rely on DL's anymore.

After adding contacts to DL we are exporting contacts to back up folder in
pst format.
So our concern is we need to add contacts to DL/group date wise everyday how
can we do this? below are the steps we follow
We created DL with todays date and added todays contacts to DL but tommorrow
we again added contacts and created new DL ,now how it is posible to search
for 50 contacts added today and transfer them to todays DL beacuse already
1000 of emails are there in address book. so we need solution for this.
IN XP it was possible but in 2003 not possible as we explaned in earlier post.
Thanks

you need to copy and paste the address directly into the DL, not create a
contact and then add it to the DL.

No. It has never been possible because DL's do not survive exporting and
importing.
Are you using Exchange mailbox as your information store?
