How to use "nickname" to pick email address in Outlook 2002?

With "nicknames" populated in Contacts, Outlook 2000 would find the address
of a contact if the nickname was entered in the "to" field of an email
address. Outlook 2002 does not seem to find contact nicknames. How can I
use nicknames to address email messages in Outlook 2002?

No version of Outlook has ever used this field. I suspect you were using
Outlook 2000 in IMO mode, which was actually Outlook Express disguised to
look like Outlook (sleight of hand by Microsoft). No past or present
versions of Outlook can use that field for searches.
