Can't you just reset the file association at the operating system level?

Then just go to Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options... > File Types
and set the properties for VCF files.

How to reset OL as default v-card handler

I mistakenly allowed another program to become the v-card default hander.
Now I have a vcf card. How do I make OL the default v-card program?

Thanks –

I am not sure where at the system level this is done. I did verify that OL
was my emial program.

Would you steer me in the right direction?

Thanks -

Don

Control Panel>Folder Options>FIle Type. Look for file type VCF. The Open
action should use the following Applicaton definition:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OfficeXX\Outlook.exe" /v "%%1"

where "XX" is reflective of your Outlook version; i.e., "10" for Outook
2002, "11" for Outlook 2003", "12" for Outlook 2007. The Use DDE box should
be checked.

Perhaps it would behoove you to specify your operating system, then, since
you have not yet done so and we cannot read minds.
