Contacts creating reminders automatically

We have a new Vista Laptop and have installed Outlook 2003

When we create a new contact is immediately creates a reminder, like an
appointment reminder. We now have 32 contact and 32 reminders. When we
dismiss the reminders they disappear only to automatically reappear 30
seconds later.

We can do everything that we do to Task / appointment reminders, except
delete the permanently.

Help to stop this happening and to remove the reminders would be much
appreciated

Try starting Outlook once with the /cleanreminders command line switch to
see if it helps. It helped me in the same situation. To do that click Run on
the Start Menu and enter:
Outlook.EXE /cleanreminders

many thanks for your helpful reply. We tried that and yes it did open up
with all the reminders gone, but hey guess what happened, 2 seconds later
they all came back again.

Does any one have any idea how we can get rid of this. Will uninstalling
OPutlook and reinstalling it work? I gues it is something written into the
computer deep inside, that will remain if even we do!
