While trying to send an email to a contact list of about 20 emails I get a
message as noted in subject line "an unexpected error has occurred". I
checked each email for accuracy and all are OK.
Thats some message, it really helps me figure out what is wrong, can anyone
help? Thanks

You posted as little information as the error message contained. Precise
steps used to reproduce the problem are a minimum you should post, including
version and mail account type. Do not use terms that have no meaning, like
"contact list."

I had done this before, without incident, but my Operating System has been reloaded and I built a new list and tried to send it. I put the list name "Consultants List" in the bcc line, which prevents all from seeing the others, normally.
I insert Subject line and leave the To: line blank
I wrote an email in the body and tried to Send and got message:
I use Windows XP Professional
That is all the error message says, no number or anything else

Russ. I have also seen this message and have been able to reproduce it on the
users machine when sending a message to a list:
"Outlook has encountered an unexpected error."
Thats it...nothing else. No error codes or debugging... nothing. Just an
"OK" button.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the list and outlook and still get the
error for this one list.

Still don't know what you mean by "list."
If you mean a Distribution List, those become corrupted all the time. You
need to recreate them from scratch often.

Russ,
Quit being an ass. If you don't know what a distribution list is in
Outlook, what are you doing here, anyway? I have had the same problem and as
stated, there isn't any further information. This problem only occurs with
trying to send to a group and rebuilding doesn't do any good. There is
something broken in Outlook 2007 and it needs to be addressed. Please let me
know if there is anything here that is too complicated for you to understand.

I recently upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2007. I encountered the same
problem with my distribution list. Got the unexpected error message with I
tried to send the email. Also, could not 'expand' the list in the address
window with the + sign net to list name - got an error message there too.
Reconstructing the group with the same name did not help, but changing the
name of the group per Sandeep's suggestion seems to work - so far.
