Hello,
I copied my Exchange contacts to PST file. Now on second computer I opened
this PST file - but I have no idea how to open contacts folder from this PST
file. I don't want to import contacts; I just want to open it from PST file
and use it as my contact backup. Anybody can help me? I am using MS Outlook
2007.
Thanks, Jiri

Mail app can't read address book

Author: Inbox20039

After a fatal crash I had to reload the OS (XP upgraded to SP3). I then
reloaded MS Office Pro 2003. I had the old Outlook.pst and extend.dat files
which I then copied over into the ...\local settings\application
data\microsoft\outlook folder and renamed them and over wrote the resident
files.

When I opened Outlook all the emails were there and all the contact
information was there, also all the calendar information and tasks were
there. However, when I wanted to add addresses by clicking the To: tab, I
got a message the the address book couldn't be opened. This message has been
well document in this forum. I read the recommended solution and did the
following.

I went to tools/email accounts and deleted the address book (only one
present). I then opened the contacts in a separate window and right clicked
on the "Contacts" icon under "My Contacts" and chose properties. I then
clicked on the "Outbook Address Book" tab, but the "show this folder as an
e-mail address book" is greyed out so I cannot put a check in the box.

Where do I go from here?

Hi,

I have the same problem but within Outlook 2003.

By any chance do you know how I can get it back in it?

Getting the address list working in email

I reinstalled Outlook 2003 on a new computer and moved the .pst files and
things work fine except the email address list. I know another address list
is used, but how do I populate it with my Outlook contacts list?

it be done; if so, how?

need contacts on 2 computers...just copy PST file?

Author: Art Nittskoff

I am new to outlook 2007 and I use a laptop and a desktop.

In outlook express I used to just copy and paste the address book file.

In Outlook 2007, can I just copy the PST file? Or is there an easier way?

Thanks

Art

Accidently deleted Distribution list..can't get back-up in

Author: Art Nittskoff

I just started using Outlook and might have made a big mistake.

I was looking in a distribution list and I wanted to delete one entry in it.
I hit DELETE and it deleted the entire list. (I now know I should have hit
remove)

I had a PST file marked back-up, but I didn't want to switch to that file
because I had made about 50 changes to the first file today...so the back-up
would not have any of the changes.

I renamed the current file outlookold.pst and changed the name of the backup
to outlook.pst

I found the distribution list I needed nd emailed it my myself.

I opened it up and it was all there.

I renamed the files and now had the contacts open with the distribution list
missing. I opened up the distribution list and told it to save and it says it
did it...but it is not there.

Soooo, my questions is can you email a distribution list and have the new
computer save it?

Is there another way to imort the list?

Thanks and happy holiday!

Re: MS Office Outlook won't let delete a telephone number.

I think I might be having the same problem; how do you set the default
dialling location? In the "Standortinformationen" popup that appears when I
try to deal with phone numbers in Outlook 2007, it gives me a big list of
Land / Region's, but, this list doesn't include "Grossbritannien",
"British..." or "England" or any other of the potential German words for
England, so I'm stumped what to set the value as.

Any ideas? I've posted a new thread with more details and have screen shots
of the popups if it's not clear which ones I mean. (Ask me, I'll put them
online and provide links to them)
