When a reminder appears, how do we set the snooze for hours PRIOR to the
event, versus hours FROM the current time?

Sometimes there is a 'Snooze' option in the drop-down for '5 minutes' or '0
minutes' before the event, but what if we want a reminder one or two hours
before the event? We have tried making manual entries using the syntax of
the two default options, but they are always rejected. As such, we only
have the option of selecting 'Snooze' reminders based on a user designated
time-period (minutes, hours, days, weeks) from the current time (versus from
the event). We would appreciate any help.

If the reminder comes up and you open the item you should be able to set
what you want.

Here with OL 2003 it works as excpected. And I have not two but 23 options
from 0 minutes to two weeks. Additionally I can enter any other value.

Do you maybe use a customized formular?

I have no problem specifying virtually any snooze delay (weeks, days, hours,
minutes) from the current time, these all work just fine. However, if Itry
to specify any snooze delay in relation to the appointment (e.g. "45 minutes
before start time"), the dialog will not accept this value! In fine, we
have no problem setting a snooze delay for 45 minutes from now, but we
cannot set a snooze delay for 45 minutes prior to the appointment (which,
BTW, is the default format for the original reminder selection). Any
suggestions.

I'm sorry, here it works as expected: I can type whatever I want into the
*appointment* form, and then the properties are set correctly; i.e. if the
appointment is due at 6:00 and I set the reminder on 45 minutes before that
then Outlook sets the ReminderMinutesBeforeStart property to 45 and the
DueDate to 5:15. And the reminder actually appears 45 minutes before the
appointment time, not from the current time.

Again, I'm not talking about the reminder dialog but the appointment form.

Yes, the reminder dialog sets the time from now, but that's not a problem -
it's expected.

Your benefit: You can have both. If you want to set the time from now, use
the reminder dialog; if you don't, open the item and use that dialog.

I do think the expectation, regarding the snooze reminder, is a matter of
preference or perspective. Sometimes, we do wish to set the snooze in
relation to the current time, but at other times it is easier to set it in
relation to the appointment. This dual-perspective seems to be acknowledged
by the fact that the snooze reminder options include both types of reminder.
We for one, would like to see the program support both options fully.
